A concert for the Elbe

The MSC Foundation is honoured to offer an exclusive concert in aid of the Elbe Habitat Foundation’s conservation efforts. World-renowned musicians cellist Johannes Moser and tenor Kenneth Tarver will be performing classical favourites with the Felix Mendelssohn Youth Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Clemens Malich and Maestro Carlo Ponti. So you can enjoy an unforgettable evening in the superb acoustics of the Elbphilharmonie on the banks of the Elbe itself, while contributing to its health and biodiversity.

For love of the Elbe

The Elbe Habitat Foundation works to enhance the ecological status of the Tidal Elbe, to preserve its natural diversity and to strengthen the unique habitats of its river landscape. With this unique gala concert, the MSC Foundation is supporting an Elbe Habitat Foundation project to develop new tidal habitats in Hamburg, specifically a tidal creek in the dike foreland near Kirchwerder, with the aim of creating a new lifeline for endangered species.

Goals

Make the dike foreland and river bank more natural and promote the interconnection of river and floodplain

Improve the habitat conditions for the endangered Elbe water dropwort and increase fish feeding grounds and refuges

Enhance animal and plant populations, fostering natural dynamics for increased biodiversity and environmental resilience
